AP Language and Composition - Hanigan

AP Language and Composition -- a college level composition course -- engages you in academically rigorous and rich thinking skills. You will not only build your own craft as a writer, composing essays reflecting the various modes of writing, but also you will learn to analyze the craft of a professional writer. Accordingly, during the first term of AP Lang., you will write descriptive, narrative, cause/effect, analogy, and classification/division essays while also building rhetorical analysis skills. During the second term, you will use the skills gained during the first term to work on both composing and analyzing argument; research will also be a focus. In addition to building your craft as a writer through the drafting process throughout both terms, you will also hone your on demand critical thinking and writing skills.
